If you love markets like I do, especially good ones, the Antique Markets of Campo San Maurizio in Venice, take place for 3 days in the following months, April, June, Sept, October and December. Campo San Maurizio is between Piazza San Marco and the Accademia Bridge.
Check the local guide when you are in Venice to see if you are lucky enough to strike the weekend on one of these months. These are authentic markets and you never know you might pick up that dream piece…
Unfortunately a lot of the traditional markets throughout Italy rarely have artisan homemade products these days but sometimes they do. But the real antique markets are that and they often have some interesting collector items. One just has to find out when they are on and where – and sometimes in Italy that is like finding a needle in a haystack. For real antique buyers I suggest Naples is the place to go- there are so many antiques for sale at the moment.
Antique prices have really dropped in Italy so now is the time to buy.
