If you love Matisse like I do, dont miss this great exhibition – Matisse Arabesque. From March 4th to June 21 2015, the Scuderie del Quirinale Rome will host an unmissable exhibition dedicated to the innovative french artist, Henri Matisse.
A collection that shows how the Oriental art, with its artifice, its arabesques and its colours, influenced the work of this big artist – Curated by Ester Coen.
The exhibition is composed approximately by 100 masterpieces the exhibition will be showcasing over one hundred works by Matisse, including several of his most outstanding masterpieces – on display in Italy for the very first time – from some of the world’s leading museums such as the Tate in London, the MET and the MoMa in New York, the Pushkin Museum in Moscow, the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, the Centre Pompidou and the Orangerie in Paris, and the leading museums of Philadelphia and Washington, to mention but a few.
Between the exhibited paintings it will be possible to admire masterpieces the likes of Girl with a Persian Cap, Zorah on the Terrace, Moroccan in Green, The Moorish Screen, Portrait of Yvonne Landsberg and Fruit Plate and Flowering Ivy in a Pot With a Rose.
