Group minibus full day tour departing from Rome to the beautiful Val d’Orcia in Tuscany visiting the small medieval villages of Montalcino, Montepulciano, Pienza in the Brunello and Montepulciano wine regions with wine tastings. Pick up from your front door at your hotel in Rome.
The town of Montalcino, not far from Montepulciano, is a sanctuary of this magnificient wine produced from Sangiovese grapes. It is a picturesque medieval village on the top of a hill with views out over the rolling hills. We will visit the town, its century-old fortress, and the best wineries reviewed in specialised magazines.
We will explore Montalcino, the splendid Abbazia di Sant’Antimo (St. Antimo’s Abbey) famous for Gregorian chants and the beautiful surrounding areas. You will be able to sample a selection of wines from this great wine area located in cellars that were once Etruscan tombs. Final stop will be Pienza with an opportunity to sample cheese and typical products that are famous in the town with free time to stroll in this pretty village
