Description
Cortina is the most exclusive of Italian skiing resorts located in the north of the Veneto region of Italy . Dramatic pink-tinged snow covered peaks rise with sheer cliff faces straight up from the top of the slopes, giving magnificent views from wherever you are. It is crowned by majestic peaks such as Tofane and Cristallo where the splendid slopes and long, well-groomed runs are a skier’s paradise.
Here you can sledge, ski, take part in torch-light descents, enjoy long walks with “ciaspe” (snow shoe hikers) or devote yourself to spa treatments. The Cortina resorts are chic, trendy, après-ski haven for partiers. One cannot mention Cortina without discussing the shopping. Some visitors come to Cortina just for the shopping and never hit the slopes.
The Corso Italia is a pedestrian area, filled with upscale shops selling designer clothes, antiques, sportswear, jewellery, cosmetics and crafts, among many other goods.
The Queen of the Dolomite Mountains – Cortina, as it renowned throughout the world, is nestled in the sunny Ampezzo valley near Italy’s northeastern border with Austria.
