Description
Five Bedroom villa near Todi in Umbria, sleeping ten in comfort and style – living the Italian Dream. This lovely villa is your home away from home, a place to experience the authentic pleasures of Italy. Set amidst olive groves and vineyards, and was once the site of a 12th century village called Villanova. The house stands out for its architectural integrity and relaxed style and exquisite views.
The garden and pool area boast unsurpassable views of Todi, one of Umbria’s premier hill towns. One view is framed by a pair of giant oaks in our garden; poolside the vista is open and it is truly breathtaking. The garden itself is graced with remnants of medieval walls and the remains of a tower where roses and clematis grow.
The villa was lovingly restored and furnished by its current owners and the work was overseen by a prominent Italian architect, and featured in Architectural Digest and the book “Restoring A Home in Italy.” The villa also received rave reviews as one of the architect’s best works in a well known American design blog.
Interior
The house is decorated with English and French antiques and Oriental rugs; the emphasis is on traditional style and comfort with contemporary accents. The terracotta floors and wood-beamed ceilings throughout use traditional Umbrian materials.
The spacious kitchen is a focal point: a raised fireplace is cosy on a cold evening. Our treasured housekeeper will always put a smile on your face. She is happy to cook delicious country meals (and babysit) for guests, upon request.
Layout
Comfortably sleep ten. Four queen bedrooms, room with sofa bed and 3.5 bathrooms. The layout is uncomplicated and flexible. It is perfect for two families to share, as well as ideal for a honeymoon or a couple on a romantic interlude.

Gardens
The beauty of the villa owes much to the gardens and views. Old stone walls, dating to the 12th century, create rooms in the garden. The landscaped pool area is safely enclosed by chestnut beam fencing and thick hedging.
There is plenty of natural shade, chaise lounges and deck chairs. There are several marble tables – for dining al fresco- and a kitchen herb garden. It is all about the pleasures of fine food and wine: meals can be savoured under our kitchen pergola draped with flowering vines. Our bbq is a raised stone grill; there is a ready supply of locally supplied logs.
