Description
One of the most enchanting places to stay at in Venice with views over the Giudecca canal. The pleasant and urbane owners of the historical hotel have renovated it with simple but well-chosen furnishings. One of the historical hotels on the Guidecca in southern Dorsoduro.
John Ruskin wrote “The Stones of Venice in room no. 2”, so this hotel has become a sacred place for writers and bohemians. The location of this lovely small hotel on the Zattere waterfront is a fortunate one. The incomparable panoramic view of the Giudecca Canal that the promenade offers, along with the light and sunshine that create a refuge and favoured walkway for Venetians even on the coldest of winter days, makes it one of the most enchanting parts of Venice.
Paintings, furniture and objects belonging to the family for generations since 1850, have all been used to good effect, whilst culture is catered for by the classical music in the foyer and information on famous and less well known cultural activities throughout Venice.
The intimate hall with its shadowy reading corners is an open invitation for afternoon tea. It is a place visited by writers and musicians. A wonderful big terrace on the water perfect for having breakfast or a glass of wine at sunset.
Guests can choose from four rooms: Single, Single with View, Double, Double with View, Superior Corner View, Superior Big Terrace with View, Panoramic Top Floor.
