The Villa made into a beautiful Residence is one of the oldest and most beautiful villas in San Casciano in the heart of the Chianti Wine Region in Tuscany just 20 min drive from Florence. Classified as a historical home entirely restored by its owners with the aim of offering the hospitality and atmosphere of a patrician family country house, it is a 24 room charming hotel with really affordable prices.

Described as one of the most ancient and beautiful villas in San Casciano, stands on the level top of the Argiano hill, with its old and solid dark walls, along the Via Empolese. The garden side has an elegant cloister, enriched by Tuscan-style columns, and all the doors and the windows are decorated with pure Renaissance-style stones.

The Villa has wonderful light and spacious rooms. The large hall the heart of the house with its beautifully painted doors has comfortable armchairs and welcoming sofas while various other smaller lounges offer quiet cozy corners for reading and relaxation.

All the wide hotel rooms are different from one another, their walls are painted with light colors made of soil and natural pigments, typical in Tuscany. Awnings and poster beds fabrics come from small Tuscan artisan weaving factories while eastern silks are used in the main floor rooms. The elegant rooms in the relais hotel main floor overlook the Chianti hills and have antique furniture and fabrics coming from Tuscan artisan weaving factories.

A nice day in the countryside always starts with a good breakfast: a rich buffet is waiting for you in the Breakfast room from 8:00 to 10:00.

This is a “Tuscan Breakfast”, with local cooking products and ingredients: sweet and savory pastries, fresh ricotta, jams, honey and cold cuts coming from the Chianti farms; family recipes and our cook’s fantasy make apple pies, peach flans, pain brioche, dark chocolate cakes, cheese quiches and many other specialties.

Restaurant

At the Villa we have the pleasure to offer our guests the option to dine “at home”.Our menu will be based on the best of Tuscan tradition and the house recipes using local produce in season. Our cook prepares tasty and refined lunch every evening, characterized by traditional specialties of Tuscan cooking and family recipes. It’s possible to have outdoors lunch or dinner in the pleasant spring, summer and fall days.
Dinner will be available from April until the end of October.

You will definitely feel at home here and the air here is filled with soft Tuscan light. Out in the country this is a charming old world residence where you can step back into the past surrounded by antique furniture and large bedrooms but with modern comforts.
Lovely old stone floors this villa has a warm feeling about it where you can completely relax and the charming manager will look after you well. Highly recommended and a great base from which to explore the vineyards of Chianti. The prices are extremely good value for a quality stay.
